Dr. O'Brien Named 2016-18 Foundation Professor

Dr. Shirley O'Brien is the latest faculty member to earn Eastern Kentucky University’s highest honor for teaching excellence.

Shirley Peganoff O'Brien is a seasoned faculty member at EKU. Her work experience has primarily been in the area of pediatrics, school-based practice, advocacy for children and families and the neurobiological foundations of occupation. She has presented and published in these areas. Her scholarship consistently incorporates application of knowledge through service learning opportunities and the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. Shirley has continuous service in the American Occupational Therapy Association, state associations, and other professional groups. She is recognized as a Fellow of the American Occupational Therapy Association.
